Prepare to jack Into The Grid and hack the planet! Demo out now!
The award-winning cyberpunk deckbuilder and dungeon crawler hybrid just released their first Demo and it looks as fine as polished chrome.
12 November - November is quickly becoming the most important month in Flatline Studios’ history. The Argentinian team was recently honored with the Best Design award in the latest edition of EVA Play, the main videogame conference in their home country. Shortly after that, they participated in the Save and Sound festival with a live performance by the team’s composer and sound designer and amassed an outstanding 3k+ new wishlists for Into The Grid, putting the game near the 20k mark even before their Demo release.
And now, the Demo is finally out, after more than two years of hard work and just a few days away from exhibiting it at the showfloor of the WePlay Expo in Shanghai, the biggest gaming event in China!
Into The Grid is a visually stunning retro-futuristic cyberpunk game where you put on your hacking hat and dive into labyrinthine digital fortresses in search of the mega corporations’ dirtiest secrets.
The game is a perfectly deep mixture of deckbuilding, card combat and map exploration in the best dungeon-crawling style, and its Demo showcases the game potential to be something unique in the genre while, at the same time, keeps a few cards under the sleeve for upcoming updates and the full game.
The demo is available on Steam, where the game is currently planned for release on Early Access in Q1 2025.

About the game
Into The Grid is a game about hacking and taking down the evil mega corporations that control the world from the shadows, and it’s also a game about the personal stories behind each of these hackers and their Factions. That focus on narrative and lore is another aspect that sets the game apart from other Roguelikes.
Key features
- An exciting blend of deckbuilding, card battler and dungeon crawler - Into The Grid introduces a map exploration system to the genre that’s a breath of fresh air. You will need to be tactical and strategical not only in the way you put together your deck and play your cards, but also in how you explore the map and manage your limited resources to find and reach your goal before The Grid kicks you out, sends a private security force to your location, or worse.
- A unique dual resource system to diminish RNG and leverage “dead draws” - Into The Grid introduces a novel combat mechanic called “Commands”, skills you can activate during combat by spending a resource that almost every card in the game generates just by playing them. Commands are designed to have supporting effects that help to play around RNG by letting you, for example, draw or fetch cards from specific places. Their varied effects also enable different archetypes within each character, creating a new fan of possibilities as you change your Commands in between battles and adjust them to your current deck.
- 5 Characters and Factions to discover the deep lore of the “2112 Universe”
Into The Grid takes place in the year 2112, in a universe that Flatline Studios has been developing for even longer than the game itself. This universe is full of characters and entities with their own agendas and motivations. In gameplay terms, the full game will include 5 different characters, each one belonging to a different hacker Faction that determines the hacker’s ethos and their reasons to be outlaws.
Into The Grid will also include all the expected features from a game of its kind, like meta-progression, card upgrading, narrative events, in-run missions and quests, and more. Some of these features are already available in the Demo while others will come in future updates or directly with the game’s Early Access release.
