First public demo of the cheating-heavy poker roguelite is now live - revealed together with a brand-new gameplay video during OTK Games Expo.
22 NOVEMBER 2025 - Hell has officially opened its doors: The Devil’s Due by Norwegian studio Games People Play launches its first public demo on Steam today, alongside a brand-new gameplay video premiering during the OTK Games Expo.
The demo lets players experience the first two layers of Hell, try a selection of cheats and trinkets, and sample the game’s rule-breaking poker duels.

About the Game
After gambling away your soul in a poker match with the Devil, your only way out of Hell is to outplay, outcheat, and out-bluff an army of monsters inspired by the seven deadly sins. Build powerful poker hands to attack, use card values to defend, and bend the rules with every dirty trick you can get your hands on.
Swap in hidden cards, boost values, sabotage enemy hands, anything goes, as long as you don’t raise too much suspicion and trigger a hellish counterattack.
Between battles, you’ll stroll through shops you can scam, shrines offering unholy upgrades, and a selection of suspiciously “fair” minigames, each hiding opportunities for players bold enough to break the rules.
“It’s a roguelite that still feels like real poker,” says designer Jack Kristoffersen. “Just poker where you unlock a whole suitcase of absurd cheating tricks and start crafting hands that would get you banned from every casino.”
With Monty Python–inspired animations, tactile UI, and a constant stream of new cheats and relics to discover, The Devil’s Due makes every sleight-of-hand feel devilishly satisfying.

About the studio
Games People Play is a Norwegian game studio founded by two best friends, Jack Kristoffersen and Joachim Barrum, who have made games together for over 30 years. Their latest title, SpreadCheat, was released on Steam in May. Though their games suggest otherwise, Jack and Joachim claim that IRL, they are honest guys who would never cheat anyone. Not even for a wishlist.
